Just when you thought you’d heard every type of music imaginable, comes the distinctive sound of E.J. Wells.  From the depths of his experiences exploring the parched Nevada ghost towns which serve as fodder for his songs, the creative juices flow in what has become his modestly acclaimed first album entitled Rhyolite (Ruin Records). It’s music that defies categorization. Attempts to label the music are as unique as the music itself. Called “spookabilly” or “spaghetti midwestern” by some, it is indeed an amalgamation of Americana/ roots rock with a country-western (more western than country) sensibility.

Around the midwest local music scene since 1974, E.J. simply refuses to grow up or die.

The newest incarnation of Wells' maddnes is about to be unleashed.

This lineup will feature Chuck Mauk on drums, Lewie Simpson on bass, and Chad Smith on organ (and various other devices).

Look for them around Halloween '07.

Come see, come hear.
